Maybe I didn’t define the parameters tightly enough, but right now I’m in a very blasé mood about the 100-day project. Part of it may be that the Tiziano drawing/pastel paper in the sketchbook I’m using plus the oil pastel medium are non-simpatico to the way I normally work. Also, completing one page each day necessarily means that what gets done is in a very low degree of finish—again, not satisfying to my detailed mind.
Here’s an overview of the project so far:

Today’s piece was a very loose watercolor using a Pinterest photo reference. I’m looking forward to picking up a big sack of local produce and farm eggs on Thursday from a local CSA service. That should provide some interesting veggies for plant portraits!

I think they look great! I find it super hard when things don’t look as ‘finished’ as I want too. There’s a lot of mental gymnastics I have to force myself through to convince myself that’s ok. More often than not that can mean I chicken out of making all together which is a sad state of affairs. I think it’s really inspiring that your doing the work and keeping going even when your feeling discomfort around it! Learning to push through that discomfort is my biggest obstacle I think so thank you for sharing your feelings and your process it helps my neurospicey brain to have points of reference for real people steadily doing the work. Keep going I think you’re doing great!
Looks great Wren! It’s hard for me to work with supplies and timing that limit my usual way of working too.
