We moved to Santa Fe in November 2012, and I’m still enthralled by the drama of the evening sky. . .
Left to right: The Ortiz Mountains; the Sandia Mountains; the Cerrillos Hills just in front of them; and Tetilla Peak. Saturday was the last warm Indian summer day—this morning it’s 18F on our roof, while one of the local Wunderground stations is reporting 23F (that’s -7.8 and -5 for those in Celsius world). We saw snow clouds on the Jemez and Sangres yesterday, and folks on the southeast of town were reporting flurries of the white stuff. Unfortunately, nothing for our area—winter snows are the major source of water for Santa Fe and northern New Mexico. The earlier it arrives, the happier the piñon and juniper woodlands will be, and the more water for the city and county reservoirs.
In the meantime, I think I’ll just snuggle up with another cuppa joe and my sketchbook. . .
It looks gorgeous! I’d love to see it someday.
Cuppa Joe and sketchbook sounds pretty good to me!
